NEWORLEANS- Police have arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with an armed robbery of a car on Willow Street Monday and a shooting later that evening.

Ken Dooley has been charged with armed robbery in the Willow Street auto burglary and being the principal to the shooting. He is also charged with auto burglary after police said the vehicle he was in during the shooting was previously reported stolen.

According to police, around 1:15 p.m. Monday, he approached a woman in the 7600 block of Willow Street as she was wiping her car's windshield. Police said Dooley pointed a gun at her and demanded the keys to her Lexus SUV. That car was discovered about 20 minutes later in the rear of a home on General Ogden Street.

Police also said Dooley was inside a vehicle that was traveling near General Ogden and Olive Streets around 10:15 p.m. The victim in that case said the car passed by and shots were fired in his direction. He was hit once in the shoulder.

Responding officers said they saw a car with several suspects fleeing the area.

The car was abandoned near Colapissa and Mistletoe Streets and Dooley was arrested after a short pursuit.

Police said Dooley identified the shooter as 18-year-old Robashi Holmes. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Holmes has also been identified as the victim of a shooting on an RTA bus that occurred on July 12, 2012 near the intersection of Carrollton Avenue and Palmetto.

The car the suspects occupied during the shooting was reported stolen from the 1200 block of Joliet Street at approximately 1:00 a.m. that same day.

Police said that while interviewing Dooley, a Lexus key fell out of his pocket, and was later identified as the key to the Lexus SUV stolen at gunpoint on Willow Street earlier that day. The victim in that robbery positively identified Dooley as the gunmen in that crime.
