PONCHATOULA, La. -- An early morning crash claimed the life of a 35-year-old Ponchatoula man, according to State Police Trooper Nick Manale.

Around 4:30 a.m., Aaron Rodgers crashed his vehicle at the intersection of LA 22 and Firetower Road in Tangipahoa Parish.

Investigators believe Rodgers was headed south on Firetower Road, but he failed to stop at the intersection with LA 22, according to State Police. His car crossed the intersection and crashed into a ditch.

He was not wearing a seat belt and was transported to North Oaks Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Driver impairment is unknown, pending the results of a toxicology examination.
