NEW ORLEANS -- The New Orleans Police Department announced Thursday the arrest of three people in connection with a string of robberies in the Broadmoor area that extended all the way to the CBD.

Police charged Carlos Tobias, Joshua Summers and Marva Turner with seven of 10 recent robberies in the Uptown and Broadmoor areas.

Detectives recovered a 2013 black Honda Santa Fe Wednesday afternoon that helped lead them to the suspects.

Police say the MO on all of the robberies in the Uptown and Broadmoor area. The suspects would drive around, hit up people getting in or out of their vehicles or going in or out of their houses. All of them involved the black SUV.

Police credited cooperation and experience with the ability to make arrests in the case.

'You know, back a long time these serial armed robberies were very common,'said NOPD Commander Paul Noel. We didn't have any that Ican recall in 2013 at all. So I think that's a credit to the hard work of the police department Uptown to stop these cases. And again, as soon as these cases started occurring, every resource that we had available started working on those cases, and we were able to solve them.'

Police say they hope to connect the three suspects with the three remaining cases that are unsolved. They spoke with the owner of the SUV, but wouldn't say anymore about whether or not he's part of this existing investigation.
