METAIRIE, La. - At criminal court Wednesday morning, it's day two of testimony in the trial of a man accused of murdering a woman in Lafreniere Park nearly six years ago.

Edmundo Cerda-Anima is charged with second degree murder in the death of Sandra Adams, 51.

Prosecutors accused Anima of hitting Adams with his car while she was exercising in the park, which caused paralyzation.

Anima then allegedly drove Adams to a nearby canal bank and raped her.

Her lifeless body was found the next morning.

In court Tuesday, the jury was shown graphic photos of the crime scene.

If convicted, Anima could face up to life behind bars, without the possibility of parole.
