NEW ORLEANS New Orleans police have released pictures of two hit-and-run suspects who they say allegedly hit a parked car, denied doing so, and then fled the scene.

The incident happened around 6:45 a.m. Tuesday near the intersections of South Claiborne Avenue and Pine Street.

NOPD spokesman Officer Frank Robertson said the owner of the parked car, who had been notified by a roommate of the crash, approached the driver of the vehicle. She denied striking the vehicle, and Robertson said she then drove off at a 'high rate of speed.'

Robertson said the vehicle is described as an older model Chevrolet Impala with a Louisiana license plate, number 15796812. He said the car has 'extensive' front end damage.

The driver is described as a black woman in her 20s or 30s with medium length hair. The passenger was described as a black woman with light skin and wearing a gray shirt. The NOPD released pictures of both, which can you see above.

If you know anything that can help investigators, call Crimestoppers at 822-1111. NOPD 2nd District Officer Samuel Jennings is in charge of the investigation and can also be reached at 658-6020.
