METAIRIE, La. Three New Orleans Saints players left practice early with heat-related issues on one of the hottest days yet of training camp.

Running back Pierre Thomas, linebacker Curtis Lofton, left tackle Jermon Bushrod and receiver Courtney Roby all experienced cramps during the more than two-and-a-half hour session. Thomas left the field for a short time, but did return.

Nearly an hour after practice, Saints linebacker Chris Chamberlain tweeted, 'Practice was a beast today! Never seen so many guys have to get IV's in my life...this New Orleans weather is undefeated! Lol #GRINDIN.'

Not all injury news was bad for the Saints, however. Acting head coach Joe Vitt said New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham participated fully in spite of being scheduled to be only limited during the session as he rests his back.

'I thought his movement skills were good out there coming in and out of breaks,' Vitt said. 'I thought he did pretty good on the goal-line stuff that we had (in) getting his fits.'

Meanwhile, receiver Adrian Arrington, who has missed two preseason games and four practices, is doing well following knee surgery to fix his meniscus.

'He came back yesterday,' Vitt said. 'He looks good. The surgery has been deemed successful. He's really walking without a limp. Hopefully sooner rather than later we'll see how his progress goes.'

Seven other players missed practice besides Arrington cornerback Jabari Greer (groin), running back Darren Sproles (knee), defensive tackle Tom Johnson (ankle), defensive end Turk McBride (ankle), receiver Nick Toon (foot), linebacker Aaron Tevis (knee) and cornerback Kamaal McIlwain (groin).
