NEW ORLEANS The Saints have signed Seneca Wallace to a one-year contract, the team announced on its Twitter feed Monday morning.

Wallace, a seven-year NFL veteran, spent the past two seasons with Cleveland, where he played in 14 games, completing 57.2 percent of his passes for 1,261 yards with six touchdowns and four interceptions.

Originally signed by Seattle out of Iowa State, Wallace has started 21 games in his career. He's known as an athletic player who can both run and pass. In 62 games, however, he has run for only 293 yards.

The Saints now have three quarterbacks on the roster, two of whom were signed this offseason. Luke McCown signed a free agent in March.
