Former Saints kicker John Kasay will sign a one-day contract with the Carolina Panthers, retiring with the franchise where he spent the bulk of his 22 year career.
Carolina announced the move Tuesday morning.
He had one of his best years in 2011 with New Orleans, his final season kicking in the NFL. He kicked a career-high 63 extra points and was 28 of 34 on field goal.
The 147 points he accounted for set a franchise record for the Saints and was the most in his career.
Kasay finishes with an 81.9 percent conversion average on field goals, including 42 kicks made beyond 50 yards.
He was an original Carolina Panther, signing with the franchise in 1995 in its first year in the NFL.
