NEW ORLEANS A SWAT roll Uptown ended peacefully early Sunday morning after a man surrendered to police, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

It happened after 4 a.m. in the 1300 block of Napoleon Avenue.

When deputies arrived on the scene, they spoke to a woman outside the home. Police say a person refused to come out of the house, and the officers heard several gunshots.

After more than an hour, 43-year-old Elmer Anweiler exited the home and surrendered to police.

Flot said no one was injured during the standoff.
