NEWORLEANS-- Police released video of a shooting on Canal Street, as authorities ask for the public's help finding two suspects in connection with the shooting.
Friday around 3:45 p.m., police responded to a shooting near the intersection of Canal and Rampart streets. According to police, a brawl escalated into a shooting.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found 23-year-old Michael Sanders suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg and an abrasion to his head. Sanders told police he was walking when 29-year-old Ronald Davis and an unknown accomplice attacked him.
'During the altercation the unknown male accomplice attired in all-dark clothing struck Sanders with a pistol and fired several shots at him. The unknown suspect then fled the scene. Davis fled towards nearby Tulane Avenue with Sanders following him firing multiple shots one striking him in the leg,' said a statement from police.
Davis and Sanders were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Both men were treated and released from the hospital, police said.
Sanders was booked with Illegal carrying of a firearm and possession of stolen property, since the gun in the shooting was reported stolen out of Jefferson Parish. Davis was booked with principal to aggravated battery by shooting.
Two men remain at large, according to police. A man named 'Scully,' who is beleived to be a shooter, is described as an African American male, dark complexion, 5-feet-6, wearing a dark shirt and light colored pants.
A second man nicknamed 'Tooty,' is described as an African American male, brown complexion, clean shaven, and 5-feet-eight. He was wearing all dark clothing. Both suspects fled the area on foot.
