NEW ORLEANS -- There is now a reward being offered for the return of the little dog taken in an Uptown carjacking.

'Skeeter,' the 11-year-old Chihuahua-Jack Russell Terrier mix, was in Meg Hall's car Tuesday night, when she was beaten and thrown out of her car in a friend's driveway. It happened on Claiborne Avenue and Burdette Street

Money from friends and a match from the Humane Society of Louisiana brings the reward money to $1,000.

'Please just drop him off at a shelter and we won't ask any questions. I just want Skeeter back. The car, the purse, the cash, (I don't care about). I just want Skeeter,' said an upset Hall.

'This could happen to anybody. Fifty percent of all households have pets and most of us take our animals with us from time to time,' said Jeff Dorson, director of the Humane Society of Louisiana.

If you know anything about the dog or want to donate more to the reward money call 1-888-6-humane. To see more pictures of Skeeter, click here:

The stolen SUV is a tan, 2000 Lincoln Navigator, with La license plate: TFX 907.
