BAYOU CORNE, La. -- Residents of Assumption Parish have 24 hours to decide if they'll take buyouts connected to the sinkhole there.

About 350 people have been evacuated from Bayou Corne since the sinkhole started growing almost a year ago

Texas Brine is responsible for the sinkhole. Company spokesman Sonny Cranch says that so far, just 30 people have accepted buyout offers.

After Monday's 5:30 p.m. deadline, residents will need lawyers to negotiate with Texas Brine.

The class-action lawsuit is set in federal court in New Orleans.
