NEW ORLEANS -- On the heels of the NFL's bag policy come a new policy to be implemented at NBA games at the New Orleans Arena.

That means Pelicans fans will have to make sure any bags they take inside the arena fit the requirements.

Unlike the NFL's policy, fans don't have to worry about using a clear bag that shows all the contents inside their bags, and it doesn't have to be as small.

Starting Friday night, Pelicans fans that bring a bag that is larger than 14 by 14 by 6 inches will be turned away at the door.

The new bag policy took effect Wednesday, and the New Orleans Arena says it will be strictly enforced.

There will, however, be an exception for bags carrying any needed medical items.
