NEWORLEANS-- A new report quashes hope of ending the dispute over Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma's season-long suspension by the National Football League.

According to Adam Schefter, an NFL insider for the ESPN, no end to the impasse is expected ahead of U.S. District Court Judge Helen 'Ginger' Berrigan's ruling.

'No settlement is expected between Jonathan Vilma and the NFL before the judge rules on the temporary restraining order as early as Friday,' Schefter tweeted.

Vilma is challenging his season-long suspension in federal court. The NFLsuspended Vilma for the 2012-2013 for his alleged role in the Saints bounty-gate scandal. According to the NFL, Vilma was one of several Saints who participated in a pay-to-injure bounty of opposing players.
