Road Closures

  • Starting Friday at 7 pm, road closures near the Mercedes-Benz Superdome will expand to include both the river-bound and lake-bound lanes of Poydras Street from LaSalle to Claiborne avenues. The City also reminded residents of traffic restrictions for North Rampart Street on Saturday from 12:00 pm to 11:00 pm. North Rampart will be closed from Esplanade Avenue to Saint Peter Street for traffic heading towards Canal Street and the Central Business District. Residents are encouraged to avoid these areas if possible.
  • A portion of interior streets in the French Quarter will be closed to all traffic from 7pm to 7 am thru Monday, February 4, 2013. Only emergency vehicles will be allowed to enter during those times. This area includes streets bounded by Canal St. to the South, Dauphine St. to the East, St. Ann to the North and Royal St. to the West.
  • Detailed traffic maps for the areas around the Superdome, French Quarter and Ernest N. Morial Convention Center are available online at The maps are updated as necessary.
  • With an increase in visitors and pedestrian traffic in the downtown area and near the Convention Center, French Quarter and Woldenberg Park for NFL Experience and Verizon Super Bowl Boulevard, visitors should plan ahead for transportation and parking. There are numerous public parking lots and garages in the Central Business District.
  • In addition, the RTA has expanded regular service, so fans are encouraged to ride the bus or take the streetcar. Additionally, there will be three park and ride options from Friday morning through Sunday night. The locations are Delgado Community College near City Park, the Wilty Terminal on the West Bank and the former Lake Forest Shopping Plaza on Read Boulevard. in New Orleans East. Hours will be 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. Cost is $1.25 each way.   • There are also bike share and bike valet programs available to the public provided by Entergy. Through these programs, fans will be able to park a bike or share a bike at no cost at locations at the Convention Center and the World Trade Center.

Bus information for Friday, February 1st through Sunday, February 3rd:

  • Please go to for regularly scheduled service.
  • $3.00 for a one-day pass, $9.00 for a three-day pass.
  • Catch the following enhanced services between 8:30am and 11:30pm:
    • Enhanced Algiers Local/General DeGaulle catch the shuttle along General DeGaulle between Sandra Drive and LB Landry Avenue, or from the Wilty Terminal under the Westbank Expressway Overpass (21 Westbank Expressway, Gretna) to the Convention Center. Service runs every 15 minutes.
    • Enhanced Canal/City Park bus and streetcar services park at City Park and catch a bus or streetcar at Beauregard Circle services run every 15 minutes and brings passengers to the foot of Canal Street at the river.
    • Enhanced Canal/Cemetery park along the streetcar line to catch the Canal/Cemetery streetcar to the foot of Canal at the river, or park at Delgado and catch the Canal/Cemetery bus at City Park Avenue and Marconi, and travel via the Canal/Cemetery line to the foot of Canal at the river. Streetcar runs every 10 minutes, Bus runs every 15 minutes.
    • Added services will be provided along all streetcar lines with extra streetcars and buses park along the routes and hop on board to downtown. Please remember to follow all parking laws.
    • Enhanced Lake Forest park near Lowes at Read Blvd, just south of I-10 and catch a bus to the Convention Center. Buses run every 15 minutes.
