BRIDGECITY, La. - Jefferson Parish deputies are looking for the grandson of an 81-year-old woman who was gunned down inside of her home Friday night, according to the sheriff's office.

Willis Stevenson, 23, who the sheriff's office says has an extensive criminal record, is considered a person of interest in the case of the death of his grandmother, Dorthea Richardson..

Spokesman John Fortunato said Stevenson's car, a Pontiac, 2 door Trans Am, was found abandoned near the intersection of 3rd and Emmanuel in Bridge City in the hours after the shooting.

Fortunato said detectives think there may have been others inside of the home at the time of the shooting and they are unsure who the intended victim may have been.

Fortunato said that Stevenson has an extensive criminal history that includes arrests for: Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault, numerous Resisting Arrest charges, numerous Battery on a Police Officer charges, Several counts of Possession of Stolen Property, Illegal Use of a Firearm, 2 counts of a Felon in Possession of a firearm, multiple Possession with intent to Distribute Marijuana charges,Possession of Cocaine, Simple Burglary, 5 counts of being a Fugitive, Multiple attachments and Traffic related charges.

The sheriff's office also said that the victim, Ms. Richardson, had a criminal history that included arrests for: simple assault, felon carrying a concealed weapon, illegal possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute cocaine and illegal possession of a firearm with narcotics.
