THIBODAUX, La. A juvenile was arrested by police for pointing a gun later determined to be a pellet gun at the employee of a business, according to David Melancon, spokesman for Thibodaux Police.

Monday around 4:30 p.m., a store clerk approached three juveniles inside the business in the 300 block of North Canal Boulevard. The clerk suspected, according to police, that the three juveniles were intent on stealing from the business. When the clerk approached the group, one of the juveniles pointed a black handgun at her, said Melancon. The employee took the gun from the juvenile

According to police, the gun, which resembles a black semi-automatic handgun, was confirmed to be a pellet gun.

The juveniles discarded another pellet gun before police arrived at the store, and later admitted that the guns were stolen a month prior from another Thibodaux business, according to police.

The juvenile who pointed the gun at the employee was placed under arrest for terrorizing, and the other two juveniles were released to their guardians pending a further investigation, according to police.
