NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans police are asking the public's help in identifying a man who robbed a restaurant Monday.

The robbery happened at about 2 p.m. in the 4800 block of Chef Menteur Highway.

Police say the man leaned over the counter and pulled out a black revolver. He threatened the cashier and demanded he put cash inside a plastic bag.

The man took $500 before fleeing on foot toward Chef Menteur Highway.

The man is black, about 5'09 tall, weighs 135 to 145 pounds and has a medium build. He was wearing a light colored, snap-back baseball cap with a white shirt. He had dark colored shorts and black/gray tennis shoes.
