NEW ORLEANS -- A restaurant served with eviction papers in April that still hasn't moved out of its prime French Quarter location is due in court Tuesday.

Montrel's Bistro is still fighting the cancellation of its lease by the city.

Before being evicted, the French Market Corporation says Montrel's Bistro had been late on rent over a dozen times and racked up a number of health code violations, even during its most recent inspection in May.

On top of the back rent, the city claims the restaurant is also violating its lease by closing its doors and failing to generate revenue.
