Loranger teen killed in wreck on LA 445

A Loranger teenager died Monday in an accident on LA 445 in Tangipahoa Parish.
According to State Police, 18-year-old Carmen Zuniga was driving a 2001 Mitsubishi southbound on LA 445 when she traveled off the right side of the roadway and then overcorrected to the left.
The vehicle re-entered the roadway, crossed the center line and impacted a 2002 Honda driven by 30-year-old Grady King of Husser, La.
King was taken to St. Tammany Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
Zuniga was also taken to St. Tammany Hospital with minor injuries.
A passenger in the Mitsubishi – identified as 17-year-old Tiffany Thomas – was taken to North Oaks Hospital with severe injuries.
Upon arriving at the hospital she was pronounced dead.
Police say Zuniga will be booked in the Tangipahoa Parish Jail with negligent homicide and careless operation after she is released from the hospital.
