A traffic stop in Tangipahoa Parish resulted in the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of a half-kilogram of cocaine, State Police reported.

It happened Friday morning on Interstate-12 east of Albany, Louisiana.

Police say 22-year-old Monteles Burden of Crestview, Florida was pulled over for a traffic violation.

Following a search of the vehicle, police found two clear plastic bags holding a combined total of about 505 grams of cocaine.

Burden and a passenger – identified as 24-year-old Archie Parks of Crestview, Florida – were each arrested and booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on drug charges.

Burden was also charged with improper lane usage.
