Camera catches shooting Uptown

A New Orleans crime camera provided photos of a shooting and has helped catch a suspect.

The New Orleans Police Department arrested Jowanda Netter, 19, in connection with the shooting of a 20-year-old man.  The shooting occurred Monday night at the corner of Second and Dryades Streets in Uptown.

Investigators said crime cameras showed Netter fighting with and chasing the victim, finally shooting the victim in the torso.

The victim in the shooting remains in critical condition. 

After watching the tape, the NOPD identified Netter as the suspect and the Violent Offender Squad made the arrest within 24 hours of the shooting.
