A 23-year-old man was arrested on charges of robbing another man of $1,000 in the parking lot of the Boomtown Casino Wednesday evening.

According to Sheriff Newell Norman, the 50-year-old victim was followed from the casino as he was walking to his car and when he got into the parking lot, 23-year-old Addison Estem of Marrero fought with him before taking his money and fleeing.

Normand said a witness helped identify Estem and deputies went to his home where he admitted to the robbery under questioning.

Estem was arrested and booked on one count of simple robbery.
