In the early morning hours of Sunday, a single vehicle crash in Houma claimed the life of a Schriever man. 

Around 1:30 a.m., Zachary Leblanc, 23, Schriever, was driving a Chevrolet truck west on LA 182, approximately 2 miles west of Savanne Rd. 

Leblanc was traveling at a high rate of speed when he left the roadway to the right, corrected to the left and then overcorrected back to the right. 

The truck left the road to the right where it struck a tree.  Leblanc, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the truck.  Leblanc was the only occupant in the truck.  He received fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alcohol and drug use are unknown at this time; however, blood tests are pending analysis.  There are no charges in the crash.  Troopers are continuing their investigation.
