Westwego man killed in Tangipahoa crash

A Westwego man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Tangipahoa Parish, according to state police.
Edgar Ockman, 55, Westwego, was traveling eastbound on LA 10, just west of LA 1054, when he failed to negotiate a curve and the vehicle went off of the road to the right, state police said.
The car that Ockman was in hit a road sign, an embankment and then a concrete culvert, police reported.
Ockman was taken to the hospital and was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the crash, state police said.
State police report that alcohol involvement is suspected, and his blood was obtained for analysis. He was also not wearing his seat belt, state police said.
