Westbank firefighters responded to a two-alarm fire Saturday morning at an apartment complex in Terrytown.

Fire officials said an apartment in building eight of the Oak Alley Apartment in the 1600 block of Carol Sue Avenue was engulfed when they arrived at about 4:15 a.m.

Two people inside the apartment were able to evacuate safely. One said she left a candle burning when she fell asleep.

Four apartments were affected.
