A New Orleans man won a little over of $1 million in a Lotto jackpot.
Charles Canada, 39, purchased the winning ticket at the Cleary Shell on Cleary Avenue in Metairie.
Canada won the lottery in the July 5 drawing, and the Shell station that sold the winning ticket received a one-time bonus of $10,500 for selling Canada the winning ticket.
After federal and state taxes were withheld, Canada took home $744,000.
The winning numbers were 3-5-14-21-27-38, and lottery officials said that Canada was the sole winner of the July 5 drawing.
