Two separate shootings kill two men

Two men were killed by gunfire in separate incidents at around the same time, the New Orleans Police Department reported.

A 58-year-old man was shot in the Hollygrove neighborhood Friday.

The Toyota Scion that a 30-year-old man was shot and killed inside on St. Bernard Ave.

The shooting happened around 4 p.m. in the 8600 block of Hickory Street, police said.

When Second District officers responded to a call of shots being fired, the victim was found inside a house with multiple gunshot wounds to the body.  He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police are still looking for a motive and for possible suspects.

Around the same time, Fifth District officers responded to a call of shots fired, police said.

Police found a victim, a 30-year-old man, inside a black four-door Toyota Scion in the 2200 block of St. Bernard Avenue – near the corner of South Galvez Street.

The victim had multiple gunshot wounds to the body and was pronounced dead on the scene, police said.

The victim has not been identified in either shooting, pending the notification of family members, police said.
