The Coast Guard also says both tug boats were operated by "inadequately licensed personnel."
Wednesday morning, the company's tug boat collided with a chemical tanker, spilling 420,000 gallons of oil into the Mississippi River.
On July 13th near Westwego, another DRD Towing tug boat was involved in an incident, resulting in the sinking of the vessel. Coast Guard officials have scheduled a public hearing to address the issue.
