NOAH terminates its employees

The board that runs the New Orleans Affordable Home ownership program, or NOAH, terminated its four employees at an emergency meeting Wednesday afternoon.
The terminations, which are effective August 8, were announced by NOAH Chairman of the Board Ed Shanklin during a brief five-minute meeting.
“Whereas New Orleans Affordable Homeownership, NOAH, operations are currently suspended and its management under investigation by the inspector general of the city of New Orleans, and whereas, the business of NOAH will be suspended indefinitely, now, therefore, be it resolved that all NOAH employees are terminated,” said Shanklin, reading from a statement.
The Board approved the resolution unanimously.
Last Friday, after a series of Channel 4 Invesigations, Mayor Ray Nagin sent a letter to the chairman of NOAH concerning the possibility of criminal activities within the home remediation program. The NOAH board then convened and decided to place all NOAH employees on administrative leave with pay for one week.
