A wrecker tows the car that was used in an attempt to elude Kenner Police.
In the first incident, drivers reported that a woman was driving a car the wrong way on Airline Drive. Detective Brian McGregor of the Kenner Police Department said the woman’s car hit at least one other car and that when police caught up to the woman near the airport, she apparently got out with a child in a car seat and ran.
Witnesses told Eyewitness News that it appeared that the woman tossed the child car seat and the 15-month-old boy inside of it over a fence in an apparent attempt to get away. McGregor said the child did not appear to be injured though he was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
In a separate incident, a truck crossed eight lanes of traffic on Veterans Blvd. before hitting a parked car in the Circuit City parking lot and then slamming into the business, putting a sizeable dent into the concrete wall.
McGregor said it appeared the man driving the truck had a seizure that caused the erratic driving, though neither he nor anyone else was injured.
