Two suspects were arrested for an Uptown carjacking, netting guns and drugs in the bust, the New Orleans Police Department reported.

Guns seized in the carjacking.

T’Daryl Scott and Dan Raymond were arrested near the intersection of South Prieur and Toledano Streets, said NOPD spokeswoman Officer Shereese Harper.

An off-duty NOPD officer spotted the Dodge truck that was taken in the carjacking near the intersection of Louisiana and South Claiborne Avenues and called for backup, said Harper.

Police pulled the truck over near South Prieur and Toledano, and the passenger, according to police, was immediately detained but the driver was able to elude police on foot.  A perimeter was setup, and the suspect was found, after residents said that he was hiding in the 3200 block of Toledano, police said.

The driver was apprehended at the home without incident, police said.

A search of the truck turned up a .357 revolver, 9 mm handgun, an assault rifle with the serial number removed, crack cocaine, heroin and items which police said were relative to the carjacking investigation.

Harper said detectives believe these individuals are responsible for other carjackings in Uptown.

Police are still searching for Alvin Clay, an African-American male, 22, with a last known address listed on Congress Street.
