Tom Planchet / Eyewitness News

Three men were shot and killed and another was wounded in three separate Monday night shootings on both sides of the Mississippi River in New Orleans.

The latest killing happened just before 11 p.m. in the 7100 block of Read Blvd. in New Orleans East. Authorities said officers were responding to a call of a man being shot, and upon arriving at the scene they found an unidentified victim inside of a home suffering from a gunshot wound to the body. He died on the scene.

Earlier, just before 7 p.m. in Uptown, police were called to the scene of a shooting at 1400 Constance Street where they found a man shot several times. The victim was not identified and police are searching for clues and a motive.

Around 7:30 p.m., police responding to a scene at L.B. Landry Avenue and Erie Street in Algiers found two people lying on the ground, each suffering from several gunshot wounds. One of the victims, a 17-year-old man, was taken to a hospital, while the other, a 19-year-old man, was dead at the scene.

If you have any information on any of these shootings, you're urged to call Crimestoppers at 822-1111. You do not have to give your name and you could be eligible for a cash reward.
