'In the Zone' -- Analysis of the 17 Recovery Zones

11:28 AM CDT on Wednesday, May 13, 2009

Rob Nelson / Eyewitness News Reporter & Anchor

It is one--if not the--most critical question about the rebuilding of New Orleans: what is the exact blueprint guiding New Orleans' recovery and what does the future of our city look like? Dr. Ed Blakely sought to answer that question back in March, when he unveiled a master plan outlining 17 target zones that would anchor the city's $1.1 billion rebuilding effort. Starting October 25, the Eyewitness Morning News begins a detailed look at that plan, going zone by zone to explain exactly what's in the works for many New Orleans neighborhoods. Every other Thursday over the next few months, we'll be highlighting a different area of the city.
