The NCAA Men’s Final Four will return to New Orleans in 2012, a major sports catch for the city and its tourism industry, it was announced Wednesday. The event will be held on March 31 and April 2, 2012 at the Louisiana Superdome.

New Orleans last played host to a Final Four in 2003. Other Final Fours were played at the Superdome in 1982, 1987 and 1993.

The city also landed the Women’s Final Four in 2013 in an announcement that was made last week.

The event is expected to have an economic impact in the neighborhood of about $40 million.

The NCAA also awarded Final Fours to Atlanta in 2013, Dallas in 2014, Indianapolis in 2015 and Houston in 2016.
