N.O. prepares shelters for possibly freezing night

As the temperature dips further, inching towards freezing levels, New Orleans officials have enacted a freeze plan for to provide shelter for whoever may need it.

Temperatures for the early morning have rested just below 50 degrees, though forecasts indicate it could dip even further.

Temporary shelter will be provided at the following locations:

Bridge House, 1160 Camp St -- Will accept males or females that may be under the influence of drugs or alcohol beginning at 9:30 p.m.
Covenant House, 611 N. Rampart St. - Will accept females between 16 and 21, and families starting at 9 p.m.
New Orleans Mission, 1130 Oretha C. Haley Boulevard, - Males and females, starting at 7 p.m.
Ozanam Inn, 843 Camp St. - Will accept males only beginning at 7 p.m.
Salvation Army, 4500 S. Claiborne Ave. - Male or females, beginning at 4:30 p.m. 

Each shelter is open and free of charge to those who need shelter from the cold weather.
