A former assistant principal at Lee Road Jr. High pled guilty Monday to charges of forcible rape and was sentenced to 30 years in prison.

Mark Carpenter, 54, had been charged with the repeated rape of a young girl that began when she was six years old, over 20 years ago.

Authorities said the crimes didn’t take place in any St. Tammany Parish school.
