METAIRIE, La. -- One of the New Orleans area's most famous Christmas displays is about to light up again -- for the last time.

Al Copeland brought the Christmas lights display back to his home because Lafreniere Park sustained some damage during Hurricane Katrina.
Family members of the late restaurant millionaire Al Copeland say in a news release they'll turn on the lights of the elaborate Christmas display at Copeland's home in Metairie for one last season, beginning Saturday.
Copeland died earlier this year of a rare form of cancer called Merkel Cell Carcinoma. His family plans a fundraising event at the home on Dec. 13 for the Al Copeland Foundation, in support of research to fight the disease.
