FEMA reimbursing for some hotel stays for Ike, Gustav
07:38 AM CST on Thursday, November 27, 2008
The Federal Emergency Management Agency is accepting receipts from victims of hurricanes Gustav and Ike seeking reimbursement for hotels they stayed in after the September storms.
A FEMA news release Wednesday says a storm victim must have been subject to a mandatory evacuation or stayed in a hotel while their home was uninhabitable in order to be eligible for a payment.
FEMA says anyone who already has been reimbursed by the state, an insurance company or another source isn't eligible. Reimbursement rates will follow guidelines set by the General Services Administration.
