COVINGTON, La. - A funeral was held this week for a victims' rights advocate whose 18-year-old daughter was killed by one of the men described in the book "Dead Man Walking."

67-year-old Elizabeth Jewel Harvey died Nov. 22. Her husband, Jimmy Brock, says she died in a hospital where she was being treated for lung disease.

Harvey was buried Wednesday in Mandeville City Cemetery next to her daughter Faith Hathaway.

Hathaway was killed in 1980, after a night out with friends to celebrate her graduation from high school and her plans to join the Army that day.

Her killer, Robert Lee Willie, was one of two men described by Sister Helen Prejean in the book "Dead Men Walking."

The investigator who Hathaway's body wrote "Victims of Dead Man Walking," which was published five years ago.
