Terrytown fire fighters battle 1-alarm blaze

12:01 PM CST on Monday, December 1, 2008

Chad Bower / Eyewitness News

The Terrytown Fire Department worked a 1-alarm fire Monday morning in the 500 block of Behrman Highway.

The fire broke out around 7:09 a.m. in the first unit of the duplex.

There were nine occupants living in the building at the time of the fire, though there were no reported injuries.

One side of the building was damaged in the fire, which started upstairs. Officials said damages could total up to $60,000.

Terrytown Fire Chief Bryan Adams said it was not an electrical fire, but that it was an accident. He declined to release more details.
