Orleans recycling event scheduled

04:05 PM CST on Tuesday, December 2, 2008

Richard Thiberville / Eyewitness News

Orleans Parish residents wanting to dispose of recyclable goods can do so Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.

East bank residents can drop off their recyclables, such as plastic containers, paper, cardboard, paper board, shredded paper and aluminum, steel and tin containers, on the neutral ground at the corner of North Claiborne Avenue and St. Peter Street. Westbank residents can drop off their recylables at the library at Gen. DeGaulle Avenue and Holiday Drive.

The city will also take recycled Mardi Gras beads and throws during the event.

Glass and household hazardous waste will not be accepted.
