The victim, identified as David Bland, was hospitalized with mild to moderate injuries following the incident.

According to Police Chief Todd Duplantis, Bland and his 16-year-old daughter were involved in an argument earlier in the day. Duplantis said that following the argument, the girl called her brother, identified as 17-year-old David Brown and that the two confronted Bland at his place of work, Big Al’s Seafood and that a fight ensued.

During the fight, the daughter apparently stabbed Bland with a sharp object while her brother beat him, according to Duplantis. After the fight, Duplantis said the brother and sister fled the scene and the girl tossed the weapon into a nearby drainage ditch.

David Brown was arrested on one count of simple battery and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. The 16-year-old girl was charged with one count of aggravated battery and one count of obstruction of justice.
