Michael Luke / Eyewitness News

A Cut Off woman who was a passenger in a car was killed when the vehicle she was in was hit by an oncoming truck, State Police spokesman Trooper Gilbert Dardar reported in a statement.

Early Thursday morning, a truck being driven by Manuel Toups, 39, Galliano, was headed south on LA 308, near East 71st Street, when Toups crossed the center line, striking a car driven by Patches St. Pierre, 26, Cut Off, State Police said.

Toups’ vehicle flipped over and came to rest on the roadway, where it was hit by Anna Billiot, 68, Golden Meadow, who was also traveling south on LA 308, State Police said.

A passenger in St. Pierre’s car, Shannon Aucoin, 32, Cut Off, was killed in the crash, police said. There was no information on the condition of other participants in the crash.

Alcohol is not suspected in the crash, but blood was drawn from each driver, police said, adding that charges in the crash are currently pending.
