“The info we have is that the gunman entered the business earlier, maybe an hour before in the presence with a female,” said New Orleans Police Assistant Superintendent Marlin Defillo.

Police said the shooting suspect and his female accomplice met with one of the victims. Then, an hour later, around 9:30 p.m., the gunman returned to the business and opened fire. Police are trying to determine a motive.

“Based on what we've seen on the scene, based on the initial investigation, based on what we see thus far, it does not appear to be a robbery,” Defillo said.

The shop owner said the deceased were both employees who had worked for him for about two years as tattoo artists, and he doesn't know why anyone would want to harm them.

“I haven't found out too much right now. But what they told us what happened is odd, you know,” said Norris Bryant, the owner of Spice One. “I hope everything gets better and people stop the killing. Things get better, you know.”
