It has been more than fivce weeks since the Deepwater Horizon oil platform exploded and sank in the Gulf of Mexico, causing the largest oil spill in U.S. history.
Eleven workers lost their lives in the explosion and since then, hundreds of fishermen and oil-field workers have lost their jobs.
To help those workers and their familiers, Catholit Charities of the Archdiocese of New Orleans has opened five oil spill relief centers.
Archbishop Gregory Aymond spoke with the Eyewitness Morning News team Monday morning about what Catholic Charities is doing.
