DESTREHAN, La. -- On Friday night, the Destrehan football team hit the field. It was their first game since five coaches were suspended for allegedly hacking a secure website to watch a rival team's practice.

The Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office says a total of five Destrehan football coaches are now being charged with unauthorized access to a website.

Wildcat and Braves fans flocked to the stands at Destrehan High School to watch the teams face off.

"I don't know what happened to those guys, but I don't think our head coach knows anything about it. That was on them, I think," said Destrehan alumni Ronald Victor, who brought his two grandsons to the game.

Besides Friday night football -- a cheating scandal that has tarnished this school's football program was on many minds.

The Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office says five assistant football coaches from Destrehan have been charged with hacking into a secure website belonging to rival South Lafourche High School. The sheriff's office claims they did that to watch practice video of the other team.

"I think it's unfortunate that they felt as though they needed to do that to win the game. It's not a good example to the children," said Blaise LeCompte. He and his son were rooting for the Braves on Friday night.

"I really was surprised because Destrehan is a really good team. I didn't think they needed to do that to win a game," said LeCompte.

Despite the scandal, on Friday Destrehan fans showed up in full force, dozens showing their school pride and support for a team whose season has been eclipsed by controversy.

"I think there are a lot of honest people here. We could have hid it, but we didn't hide it. I just want to kids to be okay, and just let time pass by because there are a lot of good people here," said Wildcats fan Ursi Abbate.
