NEW ORLEANS -- Zulu named its grand marshals Tuesday, a power couple synonymous with everything good about New Orleans -- Edgar and Leah Chase.
An official proclamation was made in the Chases' honor.
The Chase family goes way back in Mardi Gras lore. Back in 1949, when Louis Armstrong was King Zulu, he personally toasted the Chase family.
Next Tuesday, the current king and queen will do the same.
The Chases say they're happy to be part of Zulu because Zulu is such a big part of the community in giving back to others.
