Officials and residents gathered on the steps of Edmond Town Hall in Newtown for a moment of silence in memory of the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
The moment of silence began at 9:30 a.m.
During the memorial, bells from the nearby Trinity Episcopal Church rang 26 times in memory of each life lost at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
