A video by Jill Hezeau of a bird being held in a five-foot box in Ft. Jackson after the Tri-State Bird Rescue saved it.
The Northern Gannet bird was found near the oil rig explosion site. It's typically an offshore bird. They said it is very calm now, but when they picked him up it was very aggravated.
Officials say they will let it rest and become relaxed before they clean the oil off the bird. They said they even gave it Pepto-Bismol to help it in case it digested any oil.
